Hill: Meadie Ridge
Date: Sunday 24th February 2013
Company: Myself and Beinn
Distance: 7.5km, Ascent: 265m
Time: 2Hrs 15Mins

Prior to heading home, after spending the weekend based at the Crask Inn, I decided to squeeze in a Sub2000ft Marilyn. I guessed that Meadie Ridge would be a good viewpoint. I drove to and parked at a potential starting point for Meadie Ridge, c.1km from the end of Loch Meadie. I parked the car just the off-road - room for several cars.

Nothing much to say about the route except that it was 7.5km of pathless terrain through lots of bog, which today was mostly frozen. I skirted round the side of Cnoc na Coileach attempting to take as direct a line as possible towards Meadie Ridge.

The weather today was blue sky perfection.

It was nice to look across to the East to see Ben Griam Mor and Ben Griam Beg – two nice Sub2000ft Marilyns.

As I approached the summit, I got my first views of Ben Loyal.

After spending some time admiring the views, we returned to the car via roughly the same route.

Prior to heading home I stopped 1km along the road to take a photo of Ben Loyal across Loch Meadie.

Meadie Ridge may be a small, boggy lump but what a viewpoint!
