The TV weather forecast on Friday evening, for Saturday, was: "Nice and clear in the morning with patchy rain in the afternoon". We therefore set off nice and early only to get "Patchy rain in the morning and nice and clear in the afternoon". Well done Met Office.

A misty Loch Creran:

We parked at Druimavuic and followed a path up through the trees alongside Druimnaviuc Gardens. We continued to follow this wide path, alongside the Allt Buidhe, for just over 3km until reaching the col between Beinn Sgulaird and Creach Bheinn at circa 520m.

Ian and Jim:

On reaching the col, visibility was at best 30m. I therefore programmed in a few waypoints into the GPS to ensure we didn't get 'lost' in the mist. From the col we initially made for Creag na Cathaig (662m).

Erratics near Creag na Cathaig (662m):

From Creag na Cathaig, we next made for the 804m top.

804m top:

From the 804m top we headed for the summit.

Summit of Creach Bheinn:

Ian and Jim approaching summit:

Unfortunately, because of the mist, we got no views from the summit. However, not long after we started our descent the mist began to lift. We descended directly from the summit instead of backtracking to the 804m top.
