Hill: Beda Head
Date: Saturday 17th August 2024
Company: Myself and Ann-Marie
Distance: 3.9km, Ascent: 314m
Time: 1Hr 25Mins
Having ascended Steel Knotts yesterday, but failed
to ascend its neighbour Beda Head, we returned to the eastern lakes today to
ascend Beda Head.
For our ascent of Beda Head, we again parked beside
the Old Church of St Martins.
Route:
We walked a few hundred metres along the road before commencing our
ascent.

View from Christy Bridge:
The ascent onto the ridge was via bracken jungle. The path is decent
enough but there is considerable brushing against bracken during the ascent
and descent so worth checking yourself for ticks afterwards.

Once onto the ridge, we made our way along to Beda Head.

Today's walk was again sponsored by Ibuprofen and Paracetomol. My pace
was much slower than normal.

View towards the first cairn:
As there were several bumps, and we were not sure which was highest, we
visited them all. I also checked the Database of British Hills which
suggests the cairn is the summit.
